NH Police Seek Woman Wanted For Wal-Mart Return Scam

HUDSON, N.H. (CBS) – In an attempt to identify a suspect involved in what they say is a type of crime on the rise, police in Hudson, N.H., are asking for the public's help.

Police said that earlier this month loss prevention at Wal-Mart in Hudson saw a woman on surveillance taking items from shelves inside the store and returning them at the service counter without ever paying for the merchandise.

According to Hudson police, this type of theft is a growing issue at the town's Wal-Mart.

In the most recent incident, a woman allegedly came into the store, took the items and returned them on October 4. Police said the woman was confronted, but refused to cooperate and left the area in a black 1996 Toyota Camry with New Hampshire license plates.

Police added that the car is registered to a man from Manchester, N.H.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Hudson police at (603) 886-6011. Anonymous tips can be called into the crime line at (603) 594-1150.
