Shaughnessy On Gresh & Zo: People Are Overreacting To 2-2 Patriots

BOSTON (CBS)- Dan Shaughnessy joined Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak on 98.5 The Sports Hub Thursday morning to discuss the rough week for the Patriots and fans' reaction to the humiliating loss.

"I think people are overreacting," Shaughnessy said to start the discussion, which caused Gresh to literally fall out of his chair.

Gresh is used to Shaughnessy's normal negative opinions, and after reading his article about how Tom Brady is looking more like Drew Bledsoe, the overreaction comment really shocked the guys.

Shaughnessy went on to explain how he "fails to see that it is as bad as everyone is making it out to be." He put things in prospective by explaining that at least the Pats, "are not the Raiders" and should definitely still win the "AFC Least."

Shaughnessy, like Donovan McNabb, says that Brady got "benched" after throwing his second interception of the game on Monday night.

However, Zo took exception to that phrase, saying that there is a difference between being benched and getting taken out of a game that is already over.

Shaugnessy then clarified by saying, "I do not believe Tom Brady choose to come out of the game at that point."  Zo could agree on that, but then mentioned that a football player will never choose to come out of a game.

As for the problem being solely on Brady, Gresh and Zo defend Brady somewhat by bringing up issues elsewhere on the offense.

"Everyone is a part of it. It's as if 11 guys are looking at each other, not to who's going to make the play, but who's going to make the mistake," said Gresh.
