Gresh & Zo: Evaluating Brady Difficult Because Of Overall Struggles Of Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) - Everyone has been quick to pile on Tom Brady this week, the 37-year-old quarterback of the Patriots taken out of action against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football after throwing his second interception with 10:44 left to play in the fourth quarter.

The 2-2 Patriots currently have an offense without an identity, which ranks 30th in passing, 24th in scoring and 29th overall. The offense is also tied for the fourth most three-and-outs in the NFL.

Certainly some of the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of No. 12, but 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh & Zo argue that it's tough getting a clear evaluation of the player because of how bad the team has been around him.

"We really can't evaluate Tom Brady at 37 if there's any decline whatsoever. We really can't. Can't evaluate it at all," said Zo.

"Because there's such a dumpster fire around him," added Gresh.

"It's been such a train wreck up front [on the offensive line]. They have no rhythm. See if they can get in rhythm. See if they can protect him, if receivers are getting open and he's throwing to the right guy. That's how you evaluate a guy late. It's not fair. It really is not fair to evaluate a guy right now at 37 if he's in decline," Zo concluded.
