Police: Man Grabbed Donation Jar From Malden Cub Scout Volunteer

MALDEN (CBS) – Malden Police have arrested a man they say stole a donation jar right out of a volunteer's hand in front of a grocery store on Sunday.

Police arrested 28-year-old Kenneth Paul Smith Jr. of Chepachet, RI on larceny charges Monday evening.

Earlier on Monday, Malden police tweeted a surveillance image of the suspect who allegedly stole the Cub Scouts of America collection can outside of Stop and Shop.

Police credited the public for sending in tips throughout the day.

Smith was arrested without incident, but the cash was not recovered.
