Firefighters Knock Down High Rise Fire In Downtown Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – A high-rise building in downtown Boston was evacuated Monday afternoon after a fire in the walls generated a large amount of smoke inside.
Firefighters were called to 1 Boston Place at about 1:05 p.m. for a report of fire and smoke on the fifth floor.
According to the Boston Fire Department, there was fire in pipe insulation, which caused heavy smoke on the fifth and sixth floors of the building.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
There were about 2,700 employees inside the building when it was evacuated.
