Weston Mansion Hits The Market For $24 Million

WESTON (CBS) – It's one of the most expensive houses in the Boston area, and it went on the market today. It can be yours for a cool $24-million. We got a look at what you get for that money.

"The whole house has been restored to its original, and it's really quite historical. Lovely, lovely rooms," says Priscilla Hindmarsh from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who is one of the agents. In fact there are 18 lovely rooms, eight bedrooms, eight baths, nine fireplaces and a four-car garage, all nestled on 20-plus acres on Concord Rd. in Weston.

"It's right in the center of town. You wouldn't really know it because it's such a park like setting," says Hindmarsh who gave WBZ-TV a tour.

There is an art deco room, which was originally called 'the gentleman's gun room.' The home also includes a library, and in the lower level, which they added, is a 4,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room," she says.

There have been years of restoration and additions both inside and out, including a pool house you could live in complete with a great room, kitchen, and a fitness set-up. A short walk through the woods brings you to a cabin just for kids, and the gardens are a labor of love.

"They're actually fashioned after Virginia gardens. It's a little bit like an arboretum," says Hindmarsh.

With a $5-million down payment and a $155-thousand yearly tax bill, it can be yours.

"This is a very high end town, as you know. We're expecting people to come and see it," said Hindmarsh.

Wondering who owns it now? All we can tell you is, he's a high-tech CEO. Word is, the family is looking to downsize.
