Bruins Announce Contract Extension With David Krejci

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins announced their six-year contract extension with center David Krejci on Thursday.

The extension will keep Krejci on the dot for Boston through the 2020-21 season. His salary comes with an annual cap figure of $7,250,000.

Krejci led the Bruins in scoring in the 2013-14 campaign with 69 points, his first team scoring title, netting 19 goals (sixth on the team) to go with his team-leading 50 assists. He finished with an NHL-best plus 39-rating.

The 28-year-old has skated in 504 NHL games – all with Boston – amassing 110 goals and 268 assists for 378 points with a combined plus-97 rating. In seven postseasons with Boston spanning from 2008-14, Krejci has played in 93 games notching 29 goals and 48 assists for 77 points with a plus-28 rating.

Krejci was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft in the second round, taken 63rd overall.
