Boston Police Investigating Sexual Assault In Allston

BOSTON (CBS) – A woman was sexually assaulted early Sunday morning in the area of Pratt and Ashford streets in Allston, Boston Police said.

At around 1:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the area, Boston Police said. The victim told police a man had approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her.

Sunday's attack marks the third sexual assault in August. Police have not said whether the Sunday attack is linked to the two previous assaults.

The victim told police she screamed in attempt to scare off her attacker, but the suspect silenced her by covering her mouth with his hand, police said. The victim told police she thinks the suspect sustained a hand injury.

The attacker fled on Ashford Street and is described as a white man, 5' 10'' with a buzz cut, medium build and he is believed to be in his mid 20s.

Police are investigating the attack.
