One Of Two Girls Pulled From Yarmouth Hotel Pool Dies

YARMOUTH (CBS) – One of two young sisters pulled from the bottom of a pool at a hotel on the Cape last week has died.

The girls, 12 and nine years old, were found unresponsive at the bottom of the eight-foot deep section of the pool at the Bayside Resort in West Yarmouth last Wednesday night.

They were pulled out of the water by motel guests and relatives.

Guests performed CPR until Yarmouth Police and firefighters arrived.

Both were then rushed to Boston Children's Hospital.

Yarmouth police announced on their Facebook page Monday morning that the 9-year-old "passed on over the weekend."

"Her sister age 12 is alive and being cared for at Children's Hospital," police wrote.

The girls' names have not been released.

The family is from New York and were guests at the hotel, according to authorities.

The girls were being supervised by an uncle at the time of the incident.
