Fantasy Football Show: August 24, 2014

BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub has your fantasy football needs covered this season! Each and every Sunday for the length of the football season, join Mike Lockhart and Rich Keefe from 8am – 10am for comprehensive fantasy talk.

Every league is different from a scoring and points perspective, but the players taken in the first round will be pretty much the same no matter the format. Lockhart and Keefe began Sunday's show talking about the top players.

"My first pick, and I know not everybody else is on board with this, but my first guy is Adrian Peterson. I love Jamaal Charles. I really like LeSean McCoy -- he's kind of like my 1B for me. It's really close between him and Peterson," said Lockhart. If I'm sitting there at no. 1 I'm going Adrian Peterson. The reason I don't have Jamaal Charles as the first pick is that he's pretty much the only guy there in Kansas City. I just don't see as many touchdowns for him this year, so that's why Charles is my no. 3 guy."

Keefe is in agreement with the top three guys, but views it slightly different.

"I would still draft Jamaal Charles with the first pick. I don't think he had more than 22 rushing attempts in a game all season, but he catches the ball out of the backfield and is just so consistent. They didn't have a ton of weapons last year either. You wonder if they'll work in Knile Davis more just to keep Charles fresh, but I would still go Charles no. 1. Then I would go LeSean McCoy because I love that offense and Chip Kelly. Then I'd go Adrian Peterson with the third pick."

In the 9am hour, Lockhart and Rich Keefe got in to some flex options and then talked about the wide receivers.

"Everyone probably knows that Calvin Johnson is the first wide receiver off the board, followed by DeMaryius Thomas or Dez Bryant -- who will all go in round one. The next tier is Brandon Marshall, A.J. Green and Julio Jones. You might sneak Jordy Nelson in that group if you believe he can stay healthy this year," said Lockhart. "Another guy who I think will blow up in year two is Keenan Allen. I love that guy. I think he'll be a household name toward the middle of the season. I like Vincent Jackson a lot this year too. He's in a good situation with a lot of weapons around him."

Lockhart also thinks Michael Floyd is going to have another great season and build on what he did last year with Carson Palmer in Arizona. Lockhart would take him ahead of Roddy White and Andre Johnson.

Scout Dan Shonka of Ourlads.com came on towards the end of the hour to talk about which rookies are poised to hit the ground running with their respective teams.
