Gresh & Zo's 2014 NFL Summer School: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

BOSTON (CBS) - It's not your typical classroom. They're not your typical teachers. It's where you go after failing all year. It's Gresh and Zo's NFL Summer School on 98.5 The Sports Hub!

The summer school tour rolls on and heads to the NFC South, where Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak break down and preview the upcoming 2014 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Taking Attendance:

Maybe you've heard, but Greg Schiano is out and Lovie Smith is in as Bucs head coach. Quarterback Josh McCown comes to Tampa from Chicago, where he started in place of Jay Cutler (injury) for several games. Mike Williams is no longer at wide receiver, but they did draft Mike Evans out of Texas A&M. Former Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson signed with TB on a big deal. Cornerback Darrelle Revis is gone, but they did land former Titans corner Alterraun Verner to fill that role.

Gresh: "I like their safeties a lot, Mark Barron and Dashon Goldson. They put together a secondary that can get after it. Lovie Smith will be able to handle these guys a little more professionally than Schiano did. Now that said, defensively they ain't bad. You've got Gerald McCoy in the middle. Offensively they don't know which end is up."

Zo: "McCoy was a beast here last year in joint practices. Defensively I'm with you on that. Defensively they're gonna be in some games, but if you can't score you're going to be in trouble."

Pop Quiz:

Will the Bucs be able to recreate what the Bears had last year? That is, Josh McCown at quarterback and two big wide receivers.

Gresh: "They've got some of the personnel to do it, but they don't have the guy running the offense in Marc Trestman. I wonder how good Josh McCown can be without him."

Zo: "I don't know if you can hang your hat on Josh McCown."

Fantasy 101:

Do you expect Doug Martin to be Pro Bowl Doug Martin from 2012? Or below-average, hobbled Doug Martin from 2013?

Gresh: "I think Doug Martin is going to have a nice year. I don't think he'll be the Pro Bowl Doug Martin, but I think you can count on 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns. I think they're gonna pound the rock, because how much can you really trust Josh McCown? Lovie Smith likes to slow it down and play defense, and with a back like that they're gonna run it a lot."

Zo: "I think you're gonna get the bad, because there's so much pressure on him. I don't think he responds in that manner."

Vincent Jackson or the rookie Mike Evans?

Gresh: "Vincent Jackson. He's pretty damn good."

Zo: "Vincent Jackson. I just think he's better."

Final Grade:

The Bucs finished last season 4-12. Year before that? 7-9. Vegas has set the over/under at 7.5 wins. Where do they finish, and do they make the playoffs?

Gresh: "Under. I think they're 6-10, maybe 7-9, but you're still under. Not making the playoffs. That seems high doesn't it? 7.5 wins?"

Zo: "I'm going under. Don't hit me."
