MALDEN (CBS) – A 39-year-old Boston man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stabbing one man to death.

Juan Buruca was arrested and charged with the murder of Jorge Alberto Machade Mejia, 48, of Malden, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

Buruca is also facing charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, according to the DA’s office. Buruca also allegedly stabbed a 45-year-old Malden man. That man’s injuries are not life-threatening.

Buruca is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at Malden District Court.

The incident began at 1:15 a.m. when police responded to a report of a double stabbing at 28 Newhall St. Police found both men suffering from stab wounds and the victims were taken to a hospital.

Police later learned one of the victims is related to Buruca. Earlier in the night, Buruca had an argument with one of the victims and another family member.

Police have recovered the weapon used in the incident.

Malden Police and State Police are investigating the incident.
