Oldest Woman In Massachusetts Celebrates Her 115th Birthday
CHESHIRE (CBS) - The oldest living woman in Massachusetts is celebrating another birthday.
Born July 24, 1899, Bernice Madigan turned 115 on Thursday.
Madigan, who was born in West Springfield, graduated high school in 1918, and actually attended the inauguration of the 29th President Warren Harding.
She was married for 50 years before her husband Paul passed away in 1976.
Proof that she has been able to keep up with the times, Madigan has her own Facebook and Twitter pages.
As for the oldest living person in the world, the Guinness Book of World Records says the title belongs to a 116-year-old Japanese woman.
