The Senate passed a bill Tuesday that would allow stores to sell alcohol at 10 am on Sundays.

That's two hours earlier. Right now, you can't buy alcohol until noon on Sundays.

The House has already approved the bill. It needs final approval in both chambers. Then it goes to Governor Deval Patrick's desk for his signature.

This is the latest effort by state lawmakers to chip away at so-called "blue laws" that date back to the Puritan leaders of the original Massachusetts Bay Colony. A total ban on Sunday alcohol sales was in place for two centuries. That ban was lifted in 2003.

What do you think about the efforts to get rid of the so-called "blue laws?"

What do you think of the plan to allow alcohol sales earlier on Sundays?
