Sweet Summertime

Did you wake up to thunder last night?? I did! Severe storms in western New England weakened as they moved east but rumbles did make it into eastern MA in some communities. In fact, torrential downpours over Cape Cod caused some localized flooding with Falmouth picking up 1.33" of rain in 1 hour!

The front is now slowing down a bit, which means a lingering shower will be possible on the Cape & Islands through late morning before some sun breaks out.  Otherwise, drier air continues to filter into the region today – so it'll feel much more comfortable in terms of humidity levels.  Temperatures won't be nearly as hot as we've been either.  Expect highs in the lower 80s both today and tomorrow with readings a few degrees lower at the coastline with an onshore breeze.

And the weekend? It's almost here! Looks like we'll see a gradual increase in humidity and dry weather for most of it.

Late Sunday a risk of a few storms comes back into the picture – mainly in central & western MA as another cold front approaches.  The threat for thunder will stick around for the start of next week with more numerous storms possible on Tuesday, some of which could be strong to severe.

Barry will be filling in for Todd tomorrow morning and I'll be working the evening shift for Eric, so I'll see you at 5, 6 and 11 pm!
