NH Woman Charged With Hosting Teen Drinking Party

PELHAM, N.H. (CBS) – A woman has been charged with hosting an underage drinking party in her home in Pelham, New Hampshire last month.

Officers were called to 47-year-old Sandra Whiting's house on Monument Hill Road June 14, after a parent called 911 shortly after picking up his son at a party there.

Whiting was hosting a graduation party for her niece. Police said there were at least 40 minors drinking inside.

The parent who called officers stopped at least two impaired teens from driving away.

Investigators had to get a search warrant because Whiting and her family would not let them in. Once inside, police say they found several minors sleeping in the attic and the living room.

They also allegedly discovered five large bags of empty alcohol bottles and cans hidden in the basement, along with a funnel, a marijuana grinder, a glass bong and a marijuana joint.

Whiting was arrested on June 22 and charged with facilitating an underage alcohol house party.

William Suprenant, 19, of Pelham, turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is charged with internal possession.

Both were released and ordered to return to court August 11 for arraignment.

No other arrests are expected in the case, police said.
