NH Man Arrested For Attacking Roommate Over Cereal, Milk

DERRY, N.H. (CBS) – A 33-year-old Derry, New Hampshire man was arrested twice in several days for allegedly beating his roommate with a bamboo stick and shoplifting from Home Depot, according to police.

Police arrested Jason Soto on June 29 after he allegedly struck his roommate in the head with a 5-foot bamboo stick during an argument over his milk and cereal, police said. During that incident, Soto fled but police quickly captured him. He was released on $15,000 bail and ordered to appear in court on July 30.

Days later on July 2, police arrested Soto at Home Depot after responding to the store reporting a theft, police said. Soto allegedly tried to leave the store with items in a shopping cart without paying for them.

Soto is charged with second degree assault, driving with a suspended license and breach of bail.
