BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins selected 18-year-old forward David Pastrnak with the number 25 pick in the NHL Draft Friday night.

Pastrnak, from the Czech Republic, played in a Swedish elite league last season.

The 6 foot, 167 pound left wing led his team with 16 assists and 24 points in 36 games.

Pastrnak also played on the Czech Republic U18 World Junior team, where he served as assistant captain, the Czech Republic U18 International Junior team, the Czech Republic U20 World Junior team, and the Czech Republic U20 International Junior team. During his time with those teams he totaled seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 35 games played.
