Report: Joel Embiid Suffers Foot Injury

BOSTON (CBS) -- With the NBA Draft just one week away, there's even more concern surrounding potential number-one overall pick Joel Embiid.

Embiid, who is considered by many to be the top pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers, has suffered a right foot injury according to ESPN. The extent of the injury is unknown, but one source told ESPN that it may be broken.

Embiid's agent, Arn Tellem, confirmed that his client hurt his foot "sometime over the last few days,'' and said they would know more about the extent of the injury on Friday. He would not speculate on how serious the injury is until hearing from doctors. He said Embiid will not be participating in any more workouts leading up to the June 26 draft.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski Tweeted Thursday that the Cleveland Cavaliers discovered the injury while they were examining Embiid, and passed the info onto his representatives. They too fear that the foot is fractured.

There were already questions and medical flags surrounding Embiid in regards to a bad back, which forced him the 7-footer to miss the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments. Embiid averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks as a freshman at Kansas last season.
