Wednesday's Child: 9-Year-Old Isabella

BOSTON (CBS) -  Isabella, who goes by Bella, is a bubbly 9-year-old Caucasian/Hispanic girl who always looks on the bright side. She is kind and caring of others and has been able to keep her chin up through a lot of adversity.

In the past, Bella has enjoyed playing soccer and would like the opportunity to try new activities, such as gymnastics. She enjoys making bracelets, painting her nails, and playing with dolls. Bella also enjoys gardening and hopes to find a home with a backyard so she can do more. She would like to have a family pet especially a cat or dog—or both.

Bella is doing well at school where she receives support for reading and comprehension and reports that math is her favorite subject. She is proud of recently earning top score on a math test and receiving an award. She gets along well with the teachers and other students. At times, her anxiety can be overwhelming for her and she would benefit from having a patient and gentle parent to assist her with completing homework assignments.

Bella is legally free for adoption and feels ready and excited to be part of a family. Her social worker would like her to have at least one female parent and be the youngest or preferably only child in the home. She will need to visit with her birth parents twice a year and maintain contact with her younger brother as well.

To learn more about Isabella, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
