So Long Heat...

A cold front slipped through earlier this morning pushing the heat and humidity out of here for the foreseeable future.  I use the word heat loosely here because we didn't even touch 90...87 was the best we could do.  And it wasn't like it was an oppressive 87 either...the air was moving and the humidity dropped through the day.  There's a complex of thunderstorms back near the Great Lakes which will mostly slide south of us tomorrow morning but the northern edge may graze us with a few sprinkles or light showers...highest chance for raindrops will be on the South Coast.  Following that high pressure will be in charge through the weekend leading to a stunning stretch with highs in the 75-80 degree range, low humidity and lots of sunshine.

Dew Points Across the Eastern US
If you don't like the muggy air blue is what you want to see on this map. That blue represents very comfortable air and it has carved out a spot in the Northeast and will stay through the weekend.
