Convicted Sex Offender Charged With Attacking Autistic Teen

BOSTON (CBS) – A convicted sex offender has been charged with assaulting an autistic teenager at the Harvard Square MBTA station.

Transit Police say they were called to the station Friday night and officers saw 60-year-old Thomas Dabrikas "indecently assaulting a younger male."

"The victim, an 18 year old autistic male, was not a willing participant and attempted to pull away from Dabrikas," police said in a statement Saturday.

Dabrikas, who police say is homeless, was arrested and charged with indecent assault and battery.

He will be arraigned Monday in Cambridge District Court.

Dabrikas is listed as a level 3 sex offender, a group determined by the state to "be at a high risk to reoffend and to pose a high degree of dangerousness to the public."
