Cambridge Service Offers Up Deep Discounts On E-Books

BOSTON (CBS) – It’s time to stock up on summer reads! And a local company wants to fill up your e-reader without emptying your wallet. For a free subscription, book lovers can sign up for, based in Cambridge. Users are asked to fill out a user profile and then BookBub emails daily reading suggestions specific for your device.

The limited time e-book offers are free or deeply-discounted, as low as $1.00 or $2.00. Halli Melnitsky of BookBub explains the service, “Authors and publishers are the ones setting the discounts. It’s really BookBub’s job to find the very best deals with the very best books and match them to our readers.”

BookBub tells us they get about 200 submissions every day from authors or publishers looking to post their discounted books with the site. But BookBub only takes a fraction that match up with their reader profiles.
