Father Accused Of Threatening Arlington Principal Faces Charges
ARLINGTON (CBS) – Police in Arlington have filed a criminal complaint against a man they say threatened an elementary school principal last week.
Police say during an argument, Robert Goodwin showed the principal of Stratton Elementary School his gun license and made references to guns.
Goodwin said the argument was over a picture his son had drawn at school that the principal found to be very inappropriate.
"The Arlington Police Department takes very seriously any threats made on school grounds or against school officials. This philosophy applies at all times, even when the school day is over," Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement. "In this day and age, we cannot ignore any threat."
A hearing will be held next week to determine if the charges will go forward.
