Wednesday's Child: 17-Year-Old Izzy

BOSTON (CBS) --- Izzy is a 17- year-old Hispanic teenager who is legally free for adoption. Despite his age, Izzy has not given up on finding his forever family. He hopes to find a caring family who will love and accept him for who he is. Izzy can speak both Spanish and English.

Izzy is very artistic; he enjoys photography and videography, as well as skateboarding at a local park near to his home. Izzy has made a number of short films, and has even had one of his films shown at a student film festival. Izzy participates in a teen arts program and has been invited to the White House twice for his exemplary work. Currently in his junior year of high school, Izzy is a good student. He has goals of attending college and may like to study film making.

Izzy would benefit from a family who will allow him some independence but would also provide him support and motivation for entering young adulthood. Izzy deserves to have a family to share his many successes with, as well as turn to for assistance. Izzy could do well in any family constellation, so long as they have realistic expectations. Ideally, Izzy would like to remain in the Boston area as he is very connected to the area and many of his activities are also there.

To learn more about Izzy, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
