MBTA Fires Driver In Newton Bus Crash

NEWTON (CBS) --- The MBTA has fired the driver involved in a crash that left her bus hanging over the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Police records show that Shanna Shaw had a cell phone in her hand at the time of the May 18, crash that sent several people to the hospital with injuries.

Shaw maintains that she sneezed prior to the crash, causing her to lose control of the bus.

Shaw is currently facing charges in the crash, including negligent driving and speeding.
