Toucher & Rich: Fred Takes Aim At Peter King In Latest Rant

BOSTON (CBS) - Nobody is safe from a Fred Toucher rant, not even Peter King.

During the 9 o'clock hour, Fred became increasingly agitated with King, and in particular his most recent "Monday Morning Quarterback" article.

"I'm starting to despise him almost as much as Rick Reilly," said Fred to lead off the discussion.

Not only do you need an hour to sit down and read the thing, but what's inside just wreaks of smugness. King complained about his recent trip to Nashville and how people were smoking inside the establishment -- which they don't allow in his hometown of New York City.

"Here's Peter King resting in judgement two people trying to enjoy themselves while he has a bowl of turkey chili and a beer in solitude. Like these two people who do they think they are? Enjoying themselves at a sports bar?" said a sarcastic Fred.

King then went on to chastise Milan Lucic for the way he acted in the handshake line after losing to Montreal, in a segment of the article called "10 Things I Think I Think" -- which is just plain annoying to begin with.

King then called into question the merits of Milan Lucic releasing an anti-bullying children's book. Fred found King, an NFL writer, preaching about the unsportsmanlike conduct of another sport to be very disingenuous.

It gets worse though.

In the "Beernerdness" section of the weekly football article, King praised the Harpoon IPA and talked about it like it's some unknown brew.

"That's your 'beernerdness'? Harpoon IPA probably sells 5 million cases a year. Wow! Where'd you uncover that rare gem, Peter?"
