Police Searching For 2 Men In Brutal Beating In Brighton

BRIGHTON (CBS) – Boston police are searching for two men who brutally beat a man in Brighton early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the area near 1350 Commonwealth Avenue around 12:30 a.m. May 17 and met a person who claimed two men jumped and attacked his friend.

The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital. Initially his injuries, including head trauma, were not thought to be severe, but he took a turn for the worse.

Police described the suspects as black, both approximately six feet tall with medium builds.

One was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt while the other suspect was seen wearing a burnt red t-shirt and a red hat with the letter 'C' imprinted on it. The red hat may have been a Cincinnati Reds hat.

WBZ checked with several businesses in the area, none got surveillance video of the attack. Neighbors who live nearby say they'll help spread the word, in hopes police find the men who did this.

"We're always around at night, so maybe someone I know did see something and didn't think of it," said Ashley Holzwasser.

"It's just really important to know what's going on and be aware so that if you do see something you're able to say something and you can protect yourself, too," Asma Lazzouni said.
