Phantom Gourmet: Andiamo In Newburyport

NEWBURYPORT (CBS) ---  At Andiamo, in Newburyport, just about everything is made from scratch.

Chef Owner Jim Rogers and his team serve some of the best Italian food you'll find anywhere... It's all ultra-fresh, and incredibly delicious... Like Meatballs with Caramelized Tomato Ragu... Mussels with Citrus Garlic broth... Flat Iron Steak with Roasted Cippolinni onions... and Flatbreads with Pork Belly and Roasted Butternut Squash.

"You're gonna get regional Italian food, with a little bit of Mediterranean influence, and local flair. Being my hometown, you're going to get the food that I know this town needs, wants, and deserves."

With more than thirty years in the business, Jim has cooked all kinds of cuisines, in all kinds of restaurants. And at Andiamo, he's found a home, where he can cook the Italian food that speaks to his soul.

"I've been doing this a long long time, and I've traveled a lot, and I went to Italy quite a few times, and I feel that all of my experience have sort of come to this. Italian food is warm food, it's comfort food, it's great simple ingredients, and I love to eat it."

And it's all served inside an intimate dining room with dark wood, low ceilings, and plenty of authentic charm.
