Felger and Massarotti opened the day discussing the Boston Red Sox 5-1 win over the New York Yankees and the ejection of Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda for doctoring the ball. Should umpires check the players before they go on the field? How will Major League Baseball address pitchers doctoring the ball? The NFL schedule was released last night and Mike and Tony take a look at who the New England Patriots will be facing where and when. Finally, Felger and Mazz played the Adam Jones and Rich Keefe audio of their interpretation of John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman’s call of Michael Pineda’s ejection.
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continue to discuss Pineda’s ejection last night. What are they saying in New York about the incident? During Hour 2, Major League Baseball handed Pineda a 10-game suspension for possessing a foreign substance. Does the punishment fit the crime? How will the Red Sox address their struggles at the catcher position? Will the Yankees do something to get back at the Red Sox for calling out Pineda?
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys preview tonight’s Game 4 between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings and the return of Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg. Bruins President Cam Neely joined Mike and Tony to some B’s, Brad Marchand’s knee-to-knee hit, and the series against the Red Wings. To wrap up the hour, Mike and Tony got back into Pineda’s ejection last night.
