Hopedale Day Care Shuts Down As State Investigates Complaint

David Keene, who runs the day care with his wife Danielle Keene, told WBZ-NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker that he is the subject of the allegation and that it has nothing to do with any type of abuse or neglect of a child.

Keene would not offer any specifics, but he said that parents are still bringing their children to the center even after they were notified of the alleged incident.

Staffing issues are being cited as the reason for the day care's closure.

Under an agreement, Keene says he is staying away from the center while the allegation is investigated. His wife is allowed to go there, but must be supervised by another staffer.

The Department of Early Education and Care, in a statement says that they will take enforcement action against the licensee and educator as warranted by the outcome of the investigation.
