Patriots 2014 Preseason Schedule Announced

BOSTON (CBS) -- It's a true sign that football is just around the corner.

The NFL released their preseason schedule on Wednesday, or at least the slate of games.

The Patriots will open the preseason on the road in Washington D.C. against the Redskins. They'll have two straight home games at Gillette Stadium after that, hosting the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers, before closing the preseason on the road in New Jersey against the Giants.

Exact dates and times for each game will be released in the coming weeks:

Week 1/August 7-10: at Washington Redskins

Week 2/August 14-18: Philadlephia Eagles

Week 3/August 21-24: Carolina Panthers

Week 4, August 28: at New York Giants

The Patriots and Giants will play each other in the preseason finale for the 10th straight season and for the 24th time overall in the preseason, the most frequent preseason opponent for New England.

The 2014 NFL preseason will kick off on Sunday, August 3 with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The Buffalo Bills will face off against the New York Giants in that game.

The full NFL schedule is expected to be released by the end of the month.

You can hear every Patriots game on 98.5 The Sports Hub -- the flagship station of the New England Patriots.
