NEW HAVEN, VT (CBS) — Two Vermont State troopers are recovering after being involved in a shooting early Sunday.
It happened around 3 a.m. on Lake Dunmore Road in Leicester.
Police responded to a call of a man shot at the home. That man was taken to Porter Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, troopers developed information about a possible suspect. When police tried to confront the man, who also lived on Lake Dunmore Road, the suspect allegedly fired shots at the officers.
Two Vermont State Police troopers sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were transported to Porter Hospital.
The suspect was ultimately taken into custody by the Vermont State Police at approximately 6 a.m.
