The Band Perry will officially kick off the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony, the Academy announced today. Taking place April 6 at 8pm ET on CBS, the live broadcast of the ceremony will kick off with The Band Perry performing their current single “Chainsaw.”

The press release announcing this describes the trio’s “Chainsaw” performance as “explosive” and “action packed,” so set your expectations accordingly.

Last year the honors went to Blake Shelton and friends, who opened the 2013 ACM Awards with a memorable version of Shelton’s hit “Boys ‘Round Here.”
