BOSTON (CBS) — There’s a tradition among NFL coaches leading up to the league’s annual meeting where they all gather for a group photo.
But just as coaches getting together for the photo is a tradition, it’s also tradition for Bill Belichick not to take part.
Belichick once again chose not to join the photo this year, as the 31 other head coaches among the league got together to show off their smiles over the weekend:
ESPNBoston.com’s Mike Reiss notes that Belichick is not a member of the coaches’ association (a personal choice of Belichick’s), which likely plays in to his decision to skip the photograph.
Belichick was not alone last year, as New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton also skipped out on the photo. Payton was suspended by the NFL for the 2012 season following New Orleans’ “Bountygate” scandal.
Belichick isn’t all that photogenic to begin with, but he was spotted (and photographed) at the NCAA tournament on Saturday. Belichick and his girlfriend, Linda Holiday, were seen at the Pittsburgh-Florida in Orlando, Florida.
The NFL’s annual meetings began in Orlando on Sunday and run through Wednesday.
