Franklin Woman Injured In New Hampshire Snowmobiling Accident

MILAN, N.H. (CBS) – A Franklin, Mass., woman was injured in a snowmobile crash Sunday afternoon in Milan.

Samantha Carneiro, 21, was operating a rented snowmobile when she went off into the soft snow around a sharp corner and crashed into some trees, officials from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said.

Carneiro was thrown from the machine and suffered a leg injury.

Rescue personnel treated Carneiro at the scene of the accident and transported her from the trail to a waiting ambulance that took her to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.

The accident remains under investigation but officials said it appears that rider inexperience was a contributing factor in the crash.
