NH Child Care Worker Charged With Endangerment, DWI

MERRIMACK, NH (CBS) - A New Hampshire woman in charge of caring for three infants at a child care center is facing a number of charges.

Merrimack, NH police say Casey Lever, 29, of New Boston, NH, was drunk at work on Friday and was asked to leave.

Lever was taking care of a 2-month-old, a 5-month-old and 11-month-old at the time.

A short time later, an officer pulled over Lever, who was driving on Twin Bridge Road with her 5-year-old daughter in the car. The daughter was turned over to her father's care.

Lever is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police say the child care center is cooperating with the investigation and that they notified all of the parents of the children involved in the situation.

The State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Unit has also been notified.

Lever will be arraigned on Monday.
