Red Sox Lineup: Sizemore Leading Off vs Huskies
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox will take the field for the first time this spring on Thursday, hosting Northeastern and Boston College in their annual double-header at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida.
When the Red Sox take the field at 1:05 p.m. against Northeastern, they will send out a lineup made up of mostly major leaguers:
1. Grady Sizemore, LF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Mike Napoli, 1B
5. Jonny Gomes, RF
6. Xander Bogaerts, SS
7. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
8. Ryan Lavarnway, C
9. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
-Brandon Workman, SP
For Sizemore, Thursday will be his first game (spring training or regular season) since September 22, 2011.
Workman will start for Boston and hurl two innings against the Huskies. He'll be followed by two innings from left-hander Henry Owens, with righties Noe Ramirez and Burke Badenhop also set to make their spring debuts against Northeastern.
Thursday is the 12th overall meeting between the Red Sox and the Huskies, and sixth time the Red Sox have kicked off their spring slate with a double header against Northeastern and Boston College.
