Six Flags Claims New Attraction 'Tallest Swing Ride On Planet'

AGAWAM (CBS) --- Six Flags New England claims once completed, a new attraction at their Agawam park will be the tallest swing ride on Earth.

The 400-foot "New England SkyScreamer" will require 6,000 man hours and 655 cubic yards of concrete to build. Work is expected to begin on Wednesday and it's expected to be ready for the start of summer.

Once completed, Six Flags says the ride will take 24 people, 40 stories into the air while spinning.

If they can keep their eyes open long enough, riders will also enjoy views of the Connecticut River and the New England skyline. The SkyScreamer will also be a part of that skyline with changing LED lights.

Six Flags New England is looking to hire 3,000 employees for the upcoming season. A job fair is scheduled for Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Human Resources building at 1756 Main Street, Agawam.
