Beverly School Bus Driver, Monitor Charged After Child Dropped Off At Wrong Stop
BEVERLY (CBS) --- A bus driver and school bus monitor are facing criminal charges after a 6-year-old boy was dropped off at the wrong after-school location.
A lawyer for bus driver Pauline Cloyd admits a mistake was made but says it doesn't rise to the criminal level.

"I don't think it raises to the level of reckless endangerment of a child," attorney Travis Pregent said.
But the boy's mom thinks it does.
According to mom "Sue," who does not want her full named used in order to protect her child, the boy was regularly dropped off at her work on Tuesday and Thursdays and at home on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
On this particular Monday, Sue says she told school officials her son needed to be dropped off at her work.
When the boy reminded the bus driver that afternoon, the bus driver insisted it was Monday and he would be dropped off at home.
As a result, the boy was left outside his locked home, two miles from his mother's work. Meanwhile, Sue was looking for her son.
"For 20 minutes of my life, I was in pure hell," she said. A friend spotted the boy outside his home and picked him up.
"It was raining and he had his boots in his hands and he was hugging them," Sue said. "I lucked out, he could not be in my life right now."
Pregent says his client has never had any trouble in her 35 years as a bus driver but has since, been forced to resign. Cloyd and the bus monitor are expected to be arraigned next month in Salem District Court.
