Two Men Sentenced In Human Trafficking Case

BOSTON (AP) — Two Boston men convicted of human trafficking have been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Tyshaun McGhee and 29-year-old Sidney McGee are believed to be the first people convicted under the state's 2011 human trafficking law.

On Monday in Suffolk Superior Court, Tyshaun McGhee was sentenced to 10 to 15 years and Sidney McGee was sentenced to 10 to 12 years.

The men, who are not related, were convicted by a jury last week of three counts each of trafficking a person for sexual servitude.

Prosecutors say the men recruited drug-addicted women, supplied them with narcotics, and coerced them into sexual activity with men who responded to online ads. The defendants kept the money.

The victims escaped in September 2012 while being driven to Boston from a hotel in Peabody.
