MEREDITH, NH (CBS) – The Meredith Rotary Club’s Fishing Derby had a big winner, who is a bit smaller than expected.

Eleven-year-old Brady King, of Tamworth, New Hampshire, won this year’s Fishing Derby, which was held last weekend.

Along with his winning fish, King went home with a check for $15,000.

The Rotary Club’s Facebook photo of King with his prize generated a lot of buzz. The picture received more than 140 comments; some of them complaining about how the event was run and whether it’s legal for a person underage to win such a large amount of money.

The Rotary Club later posted that all the rules were followed.

The grand prize winner was drawn from a from a group of the top 14 ice fishers.
