Nine People Injured, One Killed After Car Hits MBTA Bus In Randolph

RANDOLPH (CBS) — A 24-year-old Roxbury man has died after police say he rear-ended an MBTA bus, stopped at a bus stop.

It happened Sunday morning on Route 28.

Nine people on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, many complaining of back pain, police said.

On Sunday afternoon, the MBTA announced in a prepared statement that the car’s driver had died at Boston Medical Center “as a result of injuries he sustained from the accident.”

According to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo, the bus was legally stopped at a bus stop when the car rear-ended the bus.

Pesaturo told WBZ-TV the car showed no signs of braking before hitting the bus.

The 2007 Infiniti sedan suffered extensive front-end damage.
