Army Dad Returns From Afghanistan, Surprises Sons In Jamaica Plain

JAMAICA PLAIN (CBS) – Seven-year old twins Dyllan and Dayshaun Moore stepped into the boxing ring at American Legion Post 76 on South Street Saturday evening for a night they would never forget.

It had nothing to do with boxing.

The brothers had no idea that they were being scouted from the back of the room by their number one fan, their dad, U.S. Army Specialist Wayne Moore.

Moore just returned home from a third and final tour of Afghanistan after being gone for nearly a year.

"I am just really proud of my kids. First time I've seen them box since I've been gone, just amazing," he told WBZ-TV.

Moore had the distinct honor of presenting his two sons with trophies.

Both kids were really surprised to see their dad step into the ring.

"He said he was coming home on Tuesday," Dyllan exclaimed.

"I've never done anything like this. Never surprised my kids like this. I was definitely nervous," Moore said with a huge smile on his face.

The family got a huge round of applause for his dedication and service.

Moore says the greatest part of this prize fight is being reunited with his family again.

"It feels amazing. I came home today for good," he said.
