Daily Talker: Blogger Apologizes For Weight Comments

A political blogger is now apologizing for a post where he called a school board member a "morbidly obese blueberry."

"The article I wrote... was ill-conceived, offensive and insensitive," posted former town concilor and state representative Ken O'Brien on his website "The O'Zone". "I apologize for it without qualification and that, as far as I am concerned, is that."

O'Brien's target was Southbridge School Committee Chair Lauren McLoughlin. In his original post, which has now been removed, O'Brien said he didn't believe McLoughlin can advocate against obesity when she has a problem with her weight.

McLoughlin told WBZ her weight has nothing to do with her abilities, and thinks O'Brien was being a bully.

Do you think O'Brien's apology is enough? Do you think this was a case of bullying? Share your comments below, and watch for them on WBZ News in the Morning from 4:30 - 7:00am.
