Brim Beanie Bandit Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In Stoughton

STOUGHTON (CBS) - A suspect linked to at least two of the so-called Brim Beanie Bandit robberies is in custody in Stoughton, the FBI told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 on Friday.

Stoughton police charged Daniel E. Cathcart, 45, of Milton in connection with the two recent robberies of South Shore Savings Bank.

He is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of threats to commit a crime.

An FBI official confirmed that those two crimes were among at least five robberies believed to have been committed by the so-called Brim Beanie Bandit serial bank robber.

Cathcart has only been charged in those two crimes, but police are investigating whether he is linked to the other bank robberies.
