Phantom Gourmet: Peanut Butter Cracker Taste Test
BOSTON (CBS) --- Phantom recently purchased four packages of peanut butter crackers from a local supermarket.
The snack sized contenders were Austin, Lance, Keebler, and Ritz.
Austin finished in last place. With just four pieces in each pack, rather than the standard six, Phantom felt short-changed from the start. Even worse, these bland, dry crackers skimp on peanut butter. If little Phantom found this brand in his lunchbox, he'd probably think his mother didn't love him.
A step up from there is Lance. On the upside, these toasty crackers were quite good, with plenty of saltiness and buttery flavor. On the downside, was another instance of peanut butter scarcity.
The runner-up is Keebler. When it comes to peanut butter crackers, those elves know what they're doing. Keebler's crackers are substantial, yet they don't overpower the smooth, creamy PB. While this brand certainly offers an enjoyable eating experience, the phantom found them a bit too sweet to take the top spot.
At the top of the food chain is Ritz. As soon as Phantom peeled off the plastic wrapper, he knew this brand was the real deal. The classic buttery, flaky Ritz crackers were practically overflowing with peanut butter. That's why Ritz peanut butter crackers are on the top of the food chain.
