Whitey Bulger Moved To Federal Prison In Arizona

BOSTON (AP) — Convicted Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger has been moved to a federal prison in Arizona.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons website on Friday listed Bulger as an inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary Tucson.

The 84-year-old former crime boss was convicted in August of orchestrating or participating in 11 killings. He received two life sentences plus five years.

Bulger had been held at the Plymouth County House of Correction since his capture in 2011, but was transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., after his conviction. In December, he was transferred to a federal prison in Oklahoma.

It was unclear whether Bulger will serve his sentence in Tucson. His lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
