BOSTON (CBS) – It’s that time of year again, when many are looking to drop some of those extra pounds from the holidays, and now we’re getting a look at the best diets for 2014- according to U.S. News and World Report.
The DASH Diet was named the best diet overall. It stresses healthy eating including more fruits, vegetables and whole grains – while taking in less salt. The DASH Diet was developed by the national heart, lung and blood institute.
Weight Watchers was named the best weight loss diet. It assigns points to foods based on a complicated algorithm – allowing for three meals a day and two snacks.
