Burst Pipe Floods NH Animal Shelter

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) --- The Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter is asking for help after a pipe burst in the dog kennels, causing major damage.

The pipe burst Friday and caused part of the ceiling to collapse and flood the kennels.

Staff members were able to jump into action and move the dogs away from the debris.

The dogs are now staying with foster families in the area.

Repairs are expected to begin Monday so the shelter will be closed until further notice.

In addition to the building damage, the shelter lost a vast amount of animal care and general cleaning supplies.

Donations for the shelter are now being accepted. All monetary donations will be put directly toward capital improvements. The shelter is also in need of items such as leashes, collars, Kuranda beds, toys, shelving units and bedding.

For a full list of items in need, please check out their wish list on their website.
